Background:

Many applications, such as barcode reading, require that a laserbeam is scanned in 2 dimensions to cover an area.

This is normally obtained using 2 separate systems for X- and Y-deflection.

This invention describes a method which can be used to deflect the laserbeam in 2 dimensions with only one mirror!
